The Human Settlements Minister Mmamoloko Kubayi flanked by Northern Premier Dr Zamani Saul, Sol Plaatje Executive Mayor Patrick Mabilo and COGHSTA MEC Bentley Vass signalled the start of one of Kimberley’s large-scale housing projects.

The Sod-Turning into the R140million Hull Street Social Housing Project which is set to yield 372 rental apartments has been undertaken today (1 October 2021) in Kimberley’s suburb of De Beers.

In undoing Apartheid spatial planning, this infrastructure investment project will provide qualifying beneficiaries with quality, safe, affordable, rental accommodation that is closer to work opportunities and social amenities such as schools, healthcare facilities, public transport and others.
